Charter a Yacht to Formentera this summer
Formentera is the smallest of the Balearic Islands but is definitely not one to be overlooked! Formentera lies to the south of the Island of Ibiza and as the island has no airport, the only way to access the island is by boat. Many choose to charter a yacht to Formentera for the day from Ibiza to experience the island’s beauty!
Weather in Formentera
As you may have guessed, the hottest season in Formentera is summer from around June to the middle of September. Hot and sunny days are what you are most likely to experience at this time of year with very little rainfall! With cool breezes, the best spot to be is on the back of your yacht rental! In summer the sea will be your favourite place! Dive off the back of your boat and cool off in the refreshing, crystal clear waters!
The beaches of Formentera!
There are many famous and popular beaches located on Formentera. Playa Illetas and LLevant are well known for the white sand and stunning waters. This is what makes the island a sought out destination, especially with a boat charter.

Parque Natural de las Salinas de Ibiza y Formentera
The Parque Natural de las Salinas de Ibiza y Formentera is a nature reserve that protects Southern Ibiza and Northern Formentera and both Ses Illetas and S’Empalmador are part of this reserve. The marine and land reserves of the Ses Salines Nature Reserve have more than 2700 hectares on land and 14,000 at sea.
The waters are so clear and pure that snorkelling and diving here is a great pleasure for many! Formentera has a mass amount of Posidonia Oceanica meadows that cover the seafloor bed and is of great ecological value and hence has been declared a World Heritage site by the UNESCO. This plant is of great importance to the sea and cleans and oxygenates the waters and preserves the natural dynamic of the dune system. Please respect the sea whilst enjoying its beauty!
Due to the Nature Reserve being protected, the island of Formentera is a unique natural paradise in the Mediterranean.
